Bungendore High School Action Group welcomes Labor Education Forum

The Bungendore High School Action Group welcomes the announcement of the forthcoming Labor Education Forum at the Bungendore War Memorial Hall on Wednesday 12 September at 7.30pm. The Education Forum, to discuss High School facilities for Bungendore and the surrounding region, has been organised by Bryce Wilson, Country Labor candidate for the NSW seat of Monaro.

The forum will also be attended by Jihad Dib, Shadow Minister for Education, Mike Kelly, Federal Member for Eden-Monaro and Courtney Houssos, NSW Labor MLC.

Following the public support given by John Barilaro for a High School in Bungendore, Laura Fulton, a member of the Action Group, said, “The Bungendore community will be keen to hear what plans Labor has for high school education in this area, should they achieve Government in 2019. In 2015, Labor committed funds of $26 million for the development of a High School in Bungendore but they didn’t get the opportunity to put that promise into action. We look forward to hearing from Jihad Dib what planning Labor have given to this commitment should they achieve Government at the next election”.

We encourage as many people as possible to attend the forum. Fiona Doyle a key advocate for a local high school over several years said, “We need to ensure that both sides of politics commit to a local high school. It is important that the community continues to show our political representatives that this issue really matters”.

We also welcome John Barilaro’s ongoing support for a High School with the arrival of his High School Survey in letterboxes this week and encourage everyone to complete and return it to his office in the prepaid envelope as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can go online to complete it at: www.john.barilaro.com.au.
